INTRODUCTION

Government of Syria awarded Contract for Exploration Block-XXIV to ONGC Videsh Ltd. along with IPR Mediterranean Exploration Limited (IRPMEL), an IPR Group of Companies of USA with effective date 29th May, 2004.

Block-XXIV, measuring about 3853 Sq. kms., is located in the central eastern part of Syria. The contract is under the production sharing arrangement. The participating interest of IPRMEL and OVL is 40% and 60% respectively. IPRMEL is the operator in the block.
