INTRODUCTION

ONGC Videsh Ltd. signed an Appraisal, Development and Production Sharing Agreement (ADPSA) with the Govt of Qatar on 2nd March, 2005 for appraisal of the Najwat Najem Oil Structure in Qatar with ONGC Videsh Ltd. as the operator. The agreement came into effect on 19-05-05 with the signing of the Emiree Decree.

The Najwat Najem oil structure is in the Persian Gulf, at a water depth of approximately 135feet. Two wells have been drilled on the structure. The second well, NN#2, produced oil @2000bopd.

The ADPSA is for a total period of 20 years from the date of the Emiree Decree (termed the Effective date) and comprises an initial 2 year appraisal phase followed by a development phase. The minimum work committed during the appraisal phase is reprocessing and interpretation of 200 sq km of seismic data, a preliminary G&G study, drilling of 2 appraisal wells and an integrated multidisciplinary study to assess the potential of the area.

ONGC Videsh Ltd. has collected the 3D seismic data tapes from Qatar. The data is being processed at GEOP IC. The reprocessing and interpretation jobs have been completed. The Appraisal well location have been jointly identified. The wells are scheduled to be drilled from April, May 2007.
