|ONGC extends a helping hand to Asahaya Baal Ashram|

Committed towards its corporate social policy with focus on Education - especially girl child and Health, ONGC has extended a helping hand to "Asahaya Baal Ashram" under Child Old Blind Home Welfare Society, an orphanage situated at Nagloi district, in the outskirts of Delhi. Asahaya Baal Ashram comes under the umbrella of Utthan Prayash Foundation, a Non Government Organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, which is working all over the country for the upliftment of the under privileged section of society.

ONGC extended a financial grant of Rs 1,10,000/- for this noble cause. In addition winter clothes, bed sheets and sport kits were also handed over to the students by Dr A. K. Balyan, Director (HR), ONGC. Dr Balyan expressed his desire that the Ashram should focus on computer educating for the children and assured them that ONGC will provide computers for such purpose and that successful girl students completing 5th Standard will be considered for admission to the ONGC sponsored Him Jyoti Foundation at Dehradun where they will be able to complete higher studies.
As President of the Utthan Prayash Foundation, Dr Balyan expressed his desire to support the orphanage in future and also wished that other corporates to extend helping hand for upliftment of these under privileged children.
