The ministers took very keen interest in activities of OVL through the globe, as illustrated by various posters. While enquiring about OVLs future plans in Syria, the Minister expressed his keenness for joint operations by the Syrian Petroleum Company and ONGC.
OVL put in a unique concept of building its pavilion with wooden finish over area of about 800 sq. ft. The pavilion with its posters and audio visuals created quite a show and was a hit with the visitors. Earlier, Mr. Soumen Roy, Councilor, Indian Embassy in Syria, inaugurated the OVL pavilion at the exhibition.

Among the prominent visitors was H.E. Ambassador of Republic of China in Syria who visited the OVL pavilion conveyed his appreciation of OVL’s unsteadied cooperation and contributions as a co-player in E & P industry in general and joint ventures between the companies of the two countries. He also desired that for greater success Indian Chinese Companies should align for global E&P activities.
Ever since, OVL successfully partnered CNPC to acquire participatory interest in AFPC from Petro-Canada, OVL had been looking for an opportunity to make its presence felt in the region, particularly, when Syria is a country of our sustained interest. There could have hardly been an opportunity, better than SYROIL 08, with more than 200 companies from about 45 countries showcasing their areas of activities, to achieve this objective.

On very first day, i.e. the day of inauguration itself, OVL pavilion received tremendous response from representatives of the industry giving OVL team a tough but interesting time to satisfy their quest.
