|ONGC Videsh gets two new Directors|

Mr. Joeman Thomas and Mr. Anupam Mathur have taken over as new directors on the Board of ONGC Videsh Limited as Director (Exploration) and Director (Commercial) respectively.
The appointments were communicated to C&MD, ONGC vide a letter from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on February, 20.
55 year old Mr. Joeman Thomas joined ONGC in 1976 as a Graduate Trainee. An M.Sc from IIT, Mumbai, he has more than 29 years of experience in the upstream E&P sector of which he worked 24 years in ONGC and the last 6 years at OVL, Delhi. His tenure in ONGC at Mumbai and Dehradun included association with Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas between 1986 and 1991, 1993 and 1995 in formulation of terms for exploration bid rounds, promotion of exploration acreages, evaluation of bids, negotiation of the PSCs and JOAs with successful bidders.
In 2001, Mr. Thomas joined OVL and has been Head of Exploration and Business Development and led a team which was responsible for the explosive growth of OVL through the acquisition of acreages, discovered fields and producing properties, the most significant of which was the acquisition of Talisman’s 25% interest in the Greater Nile Oil project in Sudan.
57 year old Mr. Anupam Mathur joined ONGC in 1974. Mr. Mathur has vast experience in designing, engineering, construction and installation of offshore platforms. He received the ‘Manager of The Year’ in 1997. He worked as Head of Concept Evaluation Group of IEOT, Panvel where he handled Risk Management Study of ONGC’s installations, Cochin refinery, Mahanagar Gas, Mumbai, etc.
Mr. Anupam Mathur worked as Chief Representative in the Joint Project Management team of British Petroleum and OVL, for Lan Tay and Lan Do field development in Vietnam. He headed OVL project team from Project planning, designing up to production and delivery of gas.He was responsible for establishing OVL’s office in Dubai for its Iran operations.
Both Mr. Thomas and Mr. Mathur, with rich experiences of ONGC's field-life, are expected to carry their extensive portfolio of real-life E&P experiences right into the Board room of OVL.
